L'Anse-Saint-Jean

A member of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec, L’Anse-Saint-Jean is nestled between the mountains and the Fjord. Marvel at the village’s architectural treasures, including the famous covered bridge pictured on the $1,000 bill in the 90s. Petit-Saguenay

Rivière-Éternité

This village will charm you with its diversity and larger-than-life allure. Whether you are hiking or on a cruise, admire the 9-metre-high Notre-Dame-du-Saguenay statue that overlooks the Fjord from the heights of Cap Trinité. The permanent exhibit of international nativity scenes is a must-see. Parc national du Saguenay guarantees beautiful adventures with its interpretation centre, network of hiking trails and via ferrata.

Ferland-et-Boilleau

Thanks to its breathtaking scenery, abundant nature and the Lac des Ha! Ha!, Ferland-et-Boilleau is an ideal place to camp, hunt, fish and hike or just to enjoy a country-style stay in places such as Domaine du Lac Ha ! Ha ! 

Saint-Félix-d’Otis

Surrounded by lakes and rivers, this village is practically a resort in the summer. It’s a paradise for camping, hunting and fishing! You can also visit the New France site, an excellent reproduction of our rich history. The whole family can experience life in the times of the first interactions between Aboriginals and Europeans in the 17th century. 

Sainte-Rose-du-Nord
Sacré-Cœur

A mix of agricultural and forested environments, this municipality welcomes hunting and fishing enthusiasts as well as nature lovers. Discover the beauty of the area with the many packages available year round at Ferme 5 étoiles. Enjoy the beluga interpretation centre, where you’ll have the opportunity to observe this marine mammal in Baie Sainte-Marguerite. Take a side-trip to l’Anse-de-Roche—the views of the Fjord will take your breath away!

Baie Sainte-Catherine

Located near the mouth of the Saguenay River, Baie Sainte-Catherine is the departure point for many whale and fjord observation cruises. Relax on its sandy beaches along the St. Lawrence River. 

Saint-Fulgence

Saint-Fulgence, located a dozen kilometres from the Chicoutimi district, offers a wide variety of activities with Parc aventures Cap Jaseux. Stop at Battures, an excellent stopover for waterfowl. The Parc national des Monts-Valin and the Monts-Valin massif are perfect for snowmobiling, snowshoeing and dog sledding.

Saint-Honoré

Renowned for its aviation school, Saint-Honoré is a high-flying municipality. In season, pick blueberries or ride horses at its equestrian training centre. In early summer, the St-Honoré dans l’vent festival will amaze and delight you!

Saint-David-de-Falardeau

At the foot of the majestic Monts-Valin, Saint-David-de-Falardeau is the gateway to a vast hunting, fishing and adventure territory. Winter sports enthusiasts will be thrilled with Valinouët, in the Monts-Valin massif, and can stay in a cozy cabin or shelter after a well-deserved rest at l’Éternel Spa. 

Saint-Ambroise

Located at the junction of Saguenay and Lac-Saint-Jean, crisscrossed by lakes and streams, Saint-Ambroise has many varied landscapes. Explore its territory and breathe in the atmosphere of market-garden farms and immense potato fields against the backdrop of the Monts-Valin. Don’t miss the international Francophone song competition Festival de la chanson de Saint-Ambroise. 

Bégin

Discover an authentic small rural municipality that owes its existence to the exploitation and development of its natural resources. Bégin offers many activities in lush natural surroundings. Explore the hiking or quad trails, hunt in the forest or fish in the many lakes and streams.

Larouche

Experience a different way of living in Larouche, located halfway between Saguenay and Lac-Saint-Jean. Nearby Lac Kénogami attracts many amateur sailors and offers facilities for swimming or camping. Don’t forget to visit the church to get better acquainted with our religious heritage. Stop by Restaurant Margot for an excellent meal.

Saint-Charles-de-Bourget

Located on the shores of the Saguenay River, Saint-Charles-de-Bourget has managed to retain its agricultural identity. Stop by the wharf to practise your favourite nautical activities on the river. Bird-watching enthusiasts can observe more than 130 species of birds at Marais du Lac Duclos.
